I have always found revitalizing comfort playing with water. Since I rode my bicycle to dive and swim everyday in our community pool during the summertime as a child, I have loved skiing on lakes, tubing down rapid flowing rivers through Arizona and California as well as plunging into oceans from Maine to Washington.

I have continued to devote daily time to breathe and bathe in bathtubs, and when I could, soak and swim in hot springs. These acts of immersion, floating, soaking, and swimming are sacred to me. I find solace and give homage to the element of water, my healing refuge, what keeps me alive, healthy and well.

Water, our alchemy ally, is healing and life itself since our bodies as infants are made of 80% water, our brain and kidneys, 90%, our heart, including our blood, 80%. Our breath, air element nourishes the spark of fire within our power center or womb space that holds our ability to birth and create life, and includes our many secretions, the element of water within and without.

This wintery season, you are invited to immerse yourself in a relaxing
salt water pool of warmth, tranquility and deep peace.

Imagine being floated in a pool of warm, pristine salt water, heated to above your body temperature, you’re surrounded in liquid serenity, gently rocked, stretched with the rhythm of your breath, in sync with the water’s movement.

I am offering you a healing, nurturing, and relaxing session I call warm water work. You may have heard of watsu, a series of buoyant moving forms of aquatic shiatsu for your body’s physical opening thru your emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions.

The gentle cradling movements are offered with me positioned behind your body, supporting your head, neck and shoulders. I also offer some rocking and nesting movements standing at your side as you lie on your back prone, floating in the warm water also supporting your body.

In the warmth and safety of the salt water tub, you are supported and your body easily begins to give up long held patterns of stress, chronic tension, and pain.

Your mind is free to quiet itself in my attentive presence of nurture and tenderness.

to enter naturally a place of dimensional weightless surrender to your breath,
my hands and the healing properties of the salt water.

Veda Austin, a water researcher, author and artist who lives in New Zealand with her three native children, published a potent book titled, The Living Language of Water She speaks about her discoveries in a video link at the beginning of this paragraph.

“Water is the rebel element, it won’t conform to the laws of physics or gravity
and it can’t be killed. Without it there is no life. It reincarnates for all to see
and science tells us it came to Earth from outer space. Rebellious, nonconformist,
eternal and alien…..just look at the power we are filled with.” – Veda Austin
